The New Mexico Teen Pregnancy Coalition invites you to join us as we encourage youth to participate in a variety of special activities during the month of May. There are a number of activities that have been pre-planned and are ready for you to implement or promote.

The biggest event is the national online “quiz” designed for teens. Last year almost 300,000 teens around the country participated in this fun and educational experience. Let’s make sure that our New Mexico youth benefit from this opportunity. More information about the quiz is available from the National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, www.teenpregnancy.org

Other Ideas for Promoting Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month
1. Spread the word to educators, medical and social service providers, the faith community and local community organizations. Ask them to promote the event
2. Get the word out to teens about the quiz. Help them find internet access for the quiz.
3. Encourage your schools and libraries to provide internet access for the quiz.
4. Help your local schools develop creative activities for the month of May.
5. Publicize May events in your local newspapers and radio.
6. Use the month of May to increase awareness about teen pregnancy in your community
